Check out my thoughts on the Pistons through storify

This Pistons have lost the touch of success.  Read more here.

Adam Neal

Adam Neal is a former graduate from Oakland University and now works for a news organization in Florida called TCPalm.

He had interned there before getting a job, but the area was still relatively new to him, and I asked him how he adjusted to the new environment.

“News is news,” he said to me.  It was a good take-away from the whole time we talked because it’s absolutely true.

This is what you want to hear out of an individual in journalism, and is what I expected from Mr. Neal.  He took advantages of the opportunities to work in journalism, and to a degree, thriving in it.

There will always be news to write, and you don’t really have to search for it, you just have to be aware of when it presents itself.

He spoke about other things  like how he got his job at TCPalm, or how never to say no, but both those things are something unique to himself or already known by me.

Its not to say I didn’t already know that ‘news is news’, but I guess some people can lose sight of what is important to report.

I only spoke with Neal for a short while, but it was a pleasure and maybe we’ll cross paths in the future.  For the time being I will try not to lose sight of the news.

Why Reggie Bush is a Bad Move for the Lions

When the NFL Free Agency market opens up many Detroit Lions fans will be rooting for a Reggie Bush signing.

If this happens, the Lions will show yet again what an utter failure they can be in this business.

There is no doubt Bush is a playmaker, he has super bowl experience and has shown a capability to handle the lead role in Miami.

He has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and can serve as a truly adequate replacement in wake of the Jahvid Best tragedy.

So what’s the problem with signing him?

Joique Bell is the problem, and it’s a great one to have.

I know the Lions haven’t had the best luck with running backs in their history since the departure of Barry Sanders, but maybe Detroit got a little lucky with this guy.

What class is Bell in?  Well let me rattle off a few names:  Adrian Peterson, C.J. Spiller, Jamaal Charles, and Marshawn Lynch.

Bell; along with these other players are the only ones in the NFL last year to average at least five yards a carry with a minimum of 75 rushing attempts.

Oh yeah and here’s something those other players didn’t do, he was third in receiving yards among running backs last year, and that was in a back-up role.

Wait a minute more than Ray Rice?  More than Arian Foster?  Yes and yes.

So why is the interest with Reggie Bush so high?  The only silver lining I see with it is, keeping him out of the reach of Green Bay, and trust me that’s optimism at its highest.

Peter King of thinks, “He’ll end up in Detroit.”

But, with a possible contract of over three million dollars a year, and what seems like a thousand holes on defense, signing Bush would be nothing short of irresponsible for the Lions

The NFL free agency market opens at 4 p.m. Tuesday, maybe then will any speculation come to fact.

If they do end up signing Bush, just know they will be left with more than a handful of holes.
